Our Mission
Our mission, as a self-sustaining community arts organization, is to provide
quality professional, semi-professional, and pre-professional dance
performances, a training ground for aspiring talent, performance outlets for
dance enthusiasts of all ages and levels of development, and cultural
enrichment and outreach to our community using the language of dance.
Birmingham Ballet’s vision is to bring new levels of excellence to ballet – both on and offstage. Birmingham Ballet is sustained by passion. From the
Artistic director to the part-time employees, we know that our work is not
finished until we realize our goal of a truly exceptional arts organization. We
strive to create a symphony of high ideals, devotion to the community, the
students, and the art of dance, without a discordant note: remembering always
that the foundation of talent is passion, and creativity is the seed from which
it springs.
Our History
Founded in 1991, we have grown from a small academy with a performing outlet
into a well established multi-faceted organization with an academy, a
semi-professional community ballet company, a professional repertory company,
and a community outreach program.
Birmingham Ballet is the trade name of (S Corporation) BBA, Inc. - a
self-sustaining community arts organization.
